Local 3937 Elections and International Convention

Seeking Nominations: Local 3937 Officers

We are seeking nominations for the following five (5) officer positions: President, Vice President of Organizing, Vice President Chief Steward, Secretary, and Treasurer. We are also accepting nominations for five (5) Executive Board member positions and for one (1) Trustee position.

All terms are for two years except for the Trustee which is a three-year term. For a detailed description of the duties of officers and executive board members please see Constitution for University of Minnesota Technical Employees Local 3937 (Article VII).

You can nominate yourself or someone else by either attending the membership meeting or by sending an email to 3937electionschair@gmail.com.  

Nominations close promptly on Wed., May 27 at 6pm.  Any and all nominations are accepted until that time.  Further election info will follow.

Seeking Nominations: AFSCME 44th International Convention Delegates

We are also seeking nominations for delegates to the AFSCME 44th International Convention.  This year it will be held virtually on Thur., Aug. 13 and Fri., Aug. 14, 2020.  Each day begins at 1pm (Central). We do not yet know how many delegates/alternates we will be allotted.  Judging from the Special International Convention held Feb. 29, 2020, we can assume we are eligible for 3 delegates and 3 alternates.

We will close nominations and notify everyone once we have the official call from AFSCME International.
